Canon Law requires each parish to have a Financial Council. Its members include our Pastor, Trustees, along with other members appointed by the Pastor. We meet quarterly or as required. Members are often contacted by parishioners and act as intermediaries for their concerns.
The purpose is to provide advisory services to the pastor on financial matters where members maintain transparency and fiduciaryresponsibility in all parish financial matters.
Scope of Work includes:
Monitor normal parish operating expenses, monitor financial reserves and income to cover bills and emergency expenses, and to check that bills are paid on time.
Provide technical resources – utilizing members' knowledge and financial experience.
