"Oops! I forgot to get married in Church." For baptized Christians, marriage is a holy Sacrament. So, Catholics, who fail to marry in the Church or get dispensation to marry a non-Catholic, can visit their pastor and have their marriage con-validated, that is, receive the Sacrament of Marriage either in a public ceremony or by Sanatio in Radice (a radical sanation). Since a marriage outside the Church or co-habitation restricts reception of the other Sacraments like Eucharist, Confession, and Anointing of the Sick, do not hesitate to have your marriage con-validated or get married as soon as possible.
